My Review Of Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle by Tom Venuto

The good and the not so good.

Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle places an emphasis is on losing body fat while maintaining lean muscle. This is the KEY for permanent weight loss.

Currently, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle is the best selling fitness ebook on the internet. After reading the book myself I understand why.

There are four main components to the Burn The Fat program:

  • Goal Setting,
  • Nutrition,
  • Cardio and
  • Weight Training.

When you want to evaluate the quality of information, I’m sure you agree that you should know about the source of that information.

Here’s a little background on the author Tom Venuto...

Tom received his degree in exercise science. He has also held certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer.

He’s a natural bodybuilder, which means that he doesn’t believe in taking steroids or other physique-enhancing drugs.

Tom has competed in bodybuilding 28 times and has a chiseled set of 6-pack abs.

Tom does admit that he was never a very fat person, but he also says that he does not have a genetic advantage that helps him stay lean and maintain his 6-pack.

He says that he always struggled with stubborn fat around the middle, and never saw his abs until going through many years of trial and error and lots of hard work.

On a side note, I am a former certified Personal Trainer and I know a lot about health and fitness. Tom still taught me some things. He knows his stuff.

Now that you know about the author, here’s a quick overview of what you’ll find in your copy of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle.

In the introduction, Tom Venuto says this: “Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle was created BY a bodybuilder, but it’s not just FOR bodybuilders.”

Tom does not try to convert you into a bodybuilder. What he does is show you how to eat and train so that you get the fat loss results that bodybuilders get... without going to the same extremes that they do.

The book could have easily been titled, “What everyone can learn from bodybuilders about fat loss.”

Tom's so confident in his program that he offers a strong money back guarantee at his website.

The main focus of the e-book is nutrition.

You could have the best exercise routine in the world, but you’re going to get sub par results if you don’t know how to eat.

In the nutrition chapters, you’re going to learn a simple way to set up a meal plan.

You'll choose foods you like (from recommended food lists) and plug them into a meal plan template.

There are sample menus provided to give you ideas.

The nutrition techniques can work for anyone because they progress in stages from beginner to advanced.

Unless you’re trying to make the cover of a fitness magazine, you’ll only need to use phase one or what Tom calls the “baseline” diet.

If you want to get “ripped” with six pack abs, you can use the more advanced techniques in phase two and three of the program.

You will also learn everything you need to know about calories, protein, carbs and fat.

Tom also gives you the scoop on fat burning foods and lists of what to eat, when to eat it and what not to eat.

You also learn how to set up a training program.

The main two components of a fitness program are weight training and cardiovascular training. Tom provides a routine for beginner through advanced exercisers.

Unfortunately there aren't photos or detailed instructions on how to perform each exercise. But, you can find plenty of photos and videos online.

Knowing how to customize your program is crucial.

You’ll learn how to do that in Chapter 5 of the ebook. It will explain how to figure out your unique body type. This is helpful because there is no one-size-fits-all nutrition program.

Some people have special needs. You may be lactose intolerant, allergic to gluten or maybe you’re just a picky eater. You willlearn to modify the menus to work for you.

Goal setting can be the difference between failing or having good health and the body of your dreams.

I’ve read a lot about goal setting, and Chapter 1 contains one of the best explanations of goal setting and the psychology of motivation that you can ever read.

Knowing what to do is only half the battle. Execution is what gets results.

Chapter 1 will tell you how to stay motivated to do what’s necessary to reach your ultimate goal.

My only criticism - there are lots, and lots, and lots of details!

The book has 300+ pages. Tom’s doesn’t just tell you what to do, he also tells you what not to do. He goes into great detail to explain everything that he wants to teach you.

I certainly appreciate that, however...

I think he gets a little long winded and at times a little bit repetitive. I know that he does it to drill important principles into your head.

I get that.

But at times you may notice the words "alright, get to the point" running through your mind as I did.

I do recommend trying to read the book word for word. But if you just want to be told what you need to do, you’ll likely find yourself skimming through many words to get to the meat.

Besides this, I can't think of much else to criticize.

Bonuses

The information inside the book is great. The bonus reports add more value. Two helpful reports are Foods That Burn Fat and Foods That Turn To Fat.

You’ll also receive free lifetime updates to the Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle e-book. When Tom releases new editions, you’ll get em free.

In summary, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle program is not a quick fix. It’s a weight loss program that calls for structure and it does require effort.

I can guarantee that if you follow the program, you’ll improve your health and you will have a body that you love and others will envy.
