Do you have a flat or near flat stomach? Do you have a well rounded exercise program?
If you answered yes to both questions, you may benefit from using an ab machine. You can shop from a variety of equipment here.
If you answered no to any one of those questions, let me explain why you should re-think your decision to shop for an ab machine…
To have flat abs or a visible six pack, you need to have low body fat.
The commercials on tv featuring those ab workout machines are totally bogus! They make it seem as though some piece of ab equipment can give you a flat stomach or a set of six pack abs.
The honest truth is that you get flat abs by eating for fat loss and following a balanced exercise routine.
Don’t let those ab machine sellers make a fool out of you. No equipment can strip fat away from your abs. It’s physiologically impossible.
Ab machines can strengthen and define your ab muscles but do nothing for your lower back.
The problem with that is your abdominal and lower back muscles work together when you move and when you lift stuff.
If your ab muscles are way stronger than your lower back muscles, that muscular imbalance can lead to an injury my friend.
That’s why you need a balanced workout program that includes both ab and back strengthening exercises.
Here’s the bottom line…
If you have fat to lose from the middle, eat right and spend most of your time doing fat burning exercises instead of ab exercises.
When your body fat gets to very low levels, then you focus more on abdominal specific exercises for definition.
Ab exercise machines can then help you sculpt and define a set of six pack abs. They also add some variety to your ab routine which can keep you from getting bored.
What they can not do is burn the fat away from your abs.
